The Large Lake

Suzumi continues to walk away into the unknowing blizzard of snow, shoeprints marking her path. She paid no attention to the blizzard, for a deep pain within her head sprouted like a stabbing. As Suzumi clenched her teeth, her eyes deepened into a garnet red, glaring at the snow blowing towards her path.

Shizuka pulled up the faux fur-lined hood of her jacket and squint through the snow, the blizzard making it harder to see where Suzumi had gone. She was beginning to feel lethargic and anxious, standing up and stumbling forward as a gust smacked her in the back with force. Her feet stumbled through the snow as she slipped and hit the ice cover of the lake, a large crack ringing out. She shut her eyes in pain and inhaled sharply though her teeth, feeling her palms bleeding onto the ice as the cracks began to spiderweb from underneath her.

Suzumi's dark laugh rang through the blizzard as a more violent gust of wind pushes Shizuka against the ice. She smiles crazily, making hand motions in the air. Thick wisps of wind tangle in Shizuka's hair, and pressure her face against the ice. Suzu continues walking without a care of Shizuka, vigorously coughing.

Shizuka gave a blood-filled cough and felt as if a tree was pinning her down into the ice as it cracked in resentment to the pressure. Using her elbows, she pressed her forearms against the ice and leaned up, her knees against the ice as well. On her hands and knees, she felt herself about to cough up more blood as it entered through her lungs, the inhaling of wind only burning her throat more.

Suzu's snicker echos with the howling winds. She had walked already half way around the lake, and neared the edge of the lake once more. "Oh, I wonder what this would do! Let's play, shall we?" Suzumi snatched out a pair of scissors that gleamed brightly with traces of blood, and rammed it into the ice, splitting it apart and having it crackle all over the lake. "Oops, Shi-zu-ka-chan is still on the lake isn't she?" A dark smile creeps up on Suzumi's lips, her canine teeth lengthening and her eyes twinkling. "But ofcourse, if Shizuka happens to begone, then Iori would be taken up for blame by Sakurai wouldn't he? What a great trade!"

Shizuka turned her head to see Suzumi, standing behind her, only giving a sickening laugh. Avoiding the bigger, visible cracks, she stood up on her feet against the wind and winced as the temperature of the wind only chafed her cuts and throat even more. She heard loud and various snapping sounds, snapping her head back to see the ice cracking and shooting to all directions. Her eyes widened as the ice gave way underneath her feet, her body dropping into the lake with a splash. "N-Nn!" The moment her body had been fully submerged, she felt the hypothermia begin to kick in, water seeping through the thin walls of her lungs.

"Poor girl. Accidents happen." Suzumi leaves the area with Shizuka submerged in the water, giving a sickening smile.

Ignoring all the pain in her body as it began to feel heavier and heavier in the numbing water, she raised her hands and started smacking the ice above her forcefully, trying to find an opening for survival. As her lungs began to burn and sting from a lack of oxygen, her hands slowed down on the smacks underneath the slabs of ice, her body weightless underneath the water as she closed her eyes. "Tired... I'm... tired..." Her entire body had lost it's feeling and was holding out for much longer than she thought, her heart beat slowing down tremendously to low, soft thuds in her chest. She closed her mouth and eyes, bringing her arms to wrap them around her stomach, feeling the life she held so tightly slip away little by little from her grasp.

*walks slowly into the area, letting Hudson hunt for fish out of the lake*
*raises an eyebrow as he flies back and tugs on Alex's shirt*
What's the matter boy?
You see something in the water?

Shizuka's consciousness slipped from her grip altogether, her body exhaling the small amount of air that was kept in her lungs before she fell in. The weight of her clothes and shoes slowly began to bring her body deeper into the water of the lake, her arms unfolding from her stomach and floating at her sides.

*closes his eyes and feels the new powerful spirit channeling through him as he points his bo staff at the water and lifts the body in the lake up and out*
Who is it Hudson?
Shizuka!!
*tilts the staff towards him, catching Shizuka in his arms*

*retracts his staff into a flute and plays it, wrapping Shizuka in the warm spiritual healing aura and letting it heal her physically*

Shizuka's body was virtually frozen, no breathing coming from her mouth. She woke up into her subconscious and stood in what looked like a pitch black room, simply holding a glowing feather in her hand. The feather illuminated a foot's radius from her as she brought it to her cheek and cradled the plume. "I'm... comfortable... I don't want... to wake up..."

Hm...fine then...
*closes his eyes and forces the water from her lungs with a telekinetic burst against her chest*
*takes some flint and steel from his pocket as Hudson brings back some dry wood and hits them against each other, lighting a fire and placing Shizuka next to it, using his telekinesis to manipulate the flame and place a thin layer of it over her body, warming her and speaking in her mind*
Shizuka...it's Alex. You have to wake up! You can't die.....come on Shizuka!
You can't leave Sakurai and Iori-san!

Shizuka felt the numbing feeling leave her limbs slowly, starting at her hands and feet. In her subconscious, she wandered aimlessly, holding the dim, warm feather to where her heart was. She stopped walking at sound of someone's voice resonating through her mind, holding the feather closer to her body and taking a step back. The white summer dress that brushed above her knees stopped a moment later after the halt. "I'm... comfortable. I won't die... I just want to... rest. The light is warm and comforting... so, it's okay, Alex. I even spoke to Namida and Amber-san. I saw Mael... too..."

No! Don't go anywhere near that light! Wake up Shizuka! You can't leave...You have to wake up!
*flares the fire with his sudden anger at her wanting to stay in her state and not understanding that she's dying*

"Alexandre... I'm not going to 'die.'" she reached her arm in her mentality out, holding the feather in her palm, turning her gaze down to it. The moment the fire that was layered over her lit up hotter and more fierce, she winced in her mind as the bottom of the summer dress suddenly appeared singed. "The light says everything will be okay... I won't go anywhere. I'm... *inhales*... right here."

Very well then...I'm taking you to the Hospital, understand?
You can rest there..
*picks Shizuka up as the fire disappears, no longer manipulated*
The hospital....Hudson, show me where it is?
*nods*
Very well then.
*closes his eyes and telekinetically pushes himself and Shizuka there*

Hito raised his foot, and thrusted it forward so it was above the water surface, right at the shore of the lake, he the lowered it again, making a splash as his foot went into the water, a chill went through his body, causing him to shiver slightly, he then ran his other foor across the ground, and down in the water, now standing in the water..

*continues the aimless walk on the other side of the lake, eyes closed and hands set in lake*

*stops her walk and turns head towards Hitoshirenu, watching him through the gathered fog*

hito felt a slight pressence, since it came so suddenly he quickly spun around, running his foot along the water surface, it caused a wave of water to follow him, splashing out, in the dirrection of sakurai, he produced a small screech, as he could imagine what would happen

*exhales and slips off shoes and socks, sitting down by the lake, dipping her feet into the water*

Hito stumbled back, and fell down, landing in the water, with both hands out to support his body, he didn't care for his wet pants.. Besides if they annoyed him he could just take them of..

*glances down to her legs in the water then back to him, laughing out loud once*
