The Lake

Kou yawned as he layed on the grass, Shou, that turn to his human form, Layed on the grass with him.

A soft sigh escapes Gin's lips as the wind blows through her brown locks, staring up at the endless blue sky while leaning against a tree. 'Nice day today...' she ponders to herself.

As the wind pasted Kou, He smelled a scent. He looked at where the scent comes from and finds a little girl. He sat up, curiously.
"Um, hello?" he greeted.

She feels her heart skip a beat, the voice taking her off guard. She quickly hid behind the tree with a small frown. "W-Who...who are you?" she said in a low whisper. Gin wasn't used to people intereacting with her, they usually thought she was some sort of freak because of what she was capable of doing.

"Um... Me?" Kou said, confused at her action.
"I'm not going to hurt you....."

She poked her head out from the tree cautiously, before she slowly steps away from it. "I'm...sorry, I'm just very wary of people. It's pretty rare for them to interact with me without wanting to say something bad about me..." she mumbled, fidgeting with her fingers.

"Huh? Why do they say bad stuff to you?" Kou asked curious.

She shook her head, turning her head away from him. "If I told you, you wouldn't understand...you'd run away...just like all the others..." she mumbled, staring at the ground with a pitiful expression.

"Oh, come on! It couldn't be as bad as me!" Kou said, pointing to his wolf ears.

"Are you really so sure of yourself?" she said with a frown, folding her arms over her chest. "How can you be so sure...when you just met me?"

Kou shrugged.
"Don't know, I'm just ready for the future, whatever is going to happen, happens. Can't keep thinking about the past forever."

She blinks, wonder where he's getting at before sighing under her breath. "Alright then, since you're so keen on finding out...I'll show you." She slowly made her way over to him before stopping just a few feet away from him. Reluctantly, her hand quivered for a second before she reached out her gloveless hand and placed it on his forehead.

Kou didn't move as he felt her hand on his forehead and just wait to see what happens next.

It took a few seconds for the absorption to come into affect. She gasped, falling to her knees, clutching the side of her head in pain, seeing various images of Kou and wolves in her mind. "Ngh..." she winced, closing her eyes shut.

"Eh!?!?" Kou said as he saw falled to her knee.
"Is something wrong?!?!"

"T-Too much..." she mumbled, clutching the side of her head before she let out a loud scream in agony. Two small white ears slowly appeared on the side of her head along with a white fluffy tail. She slowly pushed herself up to a sitting position, feeling completely worn out.

"What's with the ears?" Kou asked as he poked them.

Her ears quivered a bit from his touch before she sighed, gently rubbing them. "It's...because of you." she mumbled, staring up at him.

"Huh!?! What I do!?!?" Kou said in shock, not knowing if he did something bad or not.
"If I did something then I'm sorry!!!!" Kou said, bowing down infront of Gin.

She blinked, staring down at him before shaking her head. "It's...not your fault. This is just...my power reacting towards you and your mind. Remember when I placed my hand on your forehead a minute ago?" she asked in a whisper.

"Yeah.." Kou said, curious on what she is about to say.

"Whenever I have some sort of skin contact with another person, my body automatically absorbs that persons's abilities and their memories as well. It tends to take a lot out of me depending on how long the contact is. That's why...I have these ears and tail now, but it's only temporary." she explained, waiting for his reaction.

"...Thats cool!!!!" Kou said laughing.
"I wish I have some powers like that!!!!"

"H-Huh?" she stared at him completely taken aback by his reaction, she didn't think he'd react like this. "Y-You...you really think so?" Her new ears perked up a bit from his words.
