The Large Lake

Lucas looked around, figuring that the wind would hit them less under the tree. Thus he picked her up carefully and carried her under the tree. In spite of Lucas usual strength, his arms almost gave away while carrying her due to the cold and the water. He gently set her under the tree, trying to cover her as much as he could with his coat. "Hold on for a little bit. Soon it will go away. I'm sorry I can't do much really." Lucas was upset with himself for that.

Snuggles into the coat. "Tis okay." Moves close to Lucas trying to share the coat with him.

Lucas blinked looking down at her as she moved closer to her. Absentmindedly, Lucas wrapped his arm around her, giving her a sense of security and warmth.

Snuggles close to him trying to get warm. "I'm hurting and hungry."

Lucas stroked her head gently. "As soon as you get warmed up, I'll get you something to eat. It worries me to leave you like this." He paused. "Where does it hurt?"

Groans and looks up at him. "I have no money." Looks down at my pocket and pulls out a case of pills. "I need water."

Lucas tilted his head curiously and nodded. He disappeared in an instant, reappearing at the lake's edge to get some water. Then he flash-stepped back to her. "Here you go then." He held out the small pouch in which he had put the water.

Takes out 10 pills and puts all of them in my mouth. Grabs the water and swallows hard, choking some.

Lucas pat her back, as to help her clear her throat. "Are you alright? Swallowing 10 was not the brightest of ideas."

Tries to swallow again and get's down the rest of the pills and then pants heavily. "I have to swallow... them at the same... time."

Lucas blinked. "What do they do? Maybe there could have been an alternative. It's dangerous to swallow so many things at once."

"They help with my asthma, to prevent skin cancer, help with my brain cancer, diabetes, influenza, heart diseases, lung cancer, stroke, sleeping disorder and one to keep me from getting pregnant."

"Wow..." He whispered to himself, shaking his head afterward. "Do you have all those diseases?" Lucas looked at her worriedly.

Nods my head. "And a few more, but there are no pills for those. I just have to wait and see if they go away."

Lucas felt terribly bad for her. "I...Sorry. I really do hope you get better soon." Lucas paused and looked down. "By the way, I'm Lucas."

Nods my head. "I won't. I'll die soon and I'm Sae Seruna but you can call me Momo."

"It is nice to meet you, Momo." He said and shook his head. "But don't say that, you never know if you will die or not. Just have to hope for the best."

Looks at him. "The doctors and my mother already told me that I will die soon. That's why they kept me locked in my room."

Lucas shook his head again. "So, how can they be so sure. There might be a way to get you cured that they are not even aware of."

Shakes my head. "No, I have too many diseases in one body and will all of my pills mixed together that will just speed things up for me."

Lucas tried to keep a warm smile on his face. "Momo, you've got to look on the bright side though. You might just stumble upon a cure for one of your diseases some day."

"And then I'll get 8 more shots and that will just speed up my dying." Shrugs.

Lucas shook his head. "Stop saying that, Momo. Be positive about this. There might be some sort of effective cure for some of your diseases that will not need any shots afterward."

Shrugs again. "I'm just sticking to the facts that I know."

Lucas ruffled his hair. "Nonetheless you can''t always be completely sure that things will turn out just like that. But you should expect for the best anyway, ne?"
