The Pumpkin Patch

*stops in the middle of the pumpkin patch, staring at the ground*

*slowly follows the lady*
Mew~

*looks at toka, slightly smiles then disappears*

*Toby follows Toka curiously. Something about him made Toby pity him, he was less than human.*

"Why do you need your leash? Isn't it simply means for other people to control you?" Toby said, attempting to gain Toka's trust.

*slowly turns to the man*
T-Toka needs leash, wihout leash toka lost. . .

*Toby gently hugs Toka out of pity.*
"A leash can't show you the way. I'm sorry to break that to you." Toby said gently, tears dripping from his eyes because of how sad the situation was.

*toka freezes as he's hugged*
Wh-what are you doing to toka!? Mew!~

"Its called a hug. It makes people feel better." Toby said, letting go to wipe the tears away from his eyes.

"You've never been treated as human before have you?" Toby asked gently.

T-Toka is an animal, Toka can only be pet...
*squeezes the leash*

"Thats not true and you should never believe that. There must be something you want to do. Something that doesnt involve being a pet. Even if you don't know there will be a desire deep down. You're in the perfect place for you to learn what you wish to do." Toby said, gently petting Toka's head to keep him comfortable.

*shakes his head a bit*
I-if toka wants to do something and toka does something bad he will be punished for doing something. T-Toka doesn't like to be punished. M-Master will punish Toka for being bad pet...

"Master? your master is cruel. Letting a human being get into this state is unforgivable." Tbyo said, still petting him gently, moving to scratch behind his ear. It seemed to be the only way to keep Toka comfortable.

"You don't need a master. You are your own person." Toby said, gently hugging Toka once again.

*Toka purrs lightly as he is pet and scratched behind the ears but freezes up in the hug again*
T-Toka lost master...master will be angry. T-Toka will be punished again.
*he squeezes the leash again looking down*

"Forget him. Did he ever treat you nicely? You don't punish an animal when it does wrong, you give it more attention so it won't need to do wrong." Toby said with a smile, creating a butterfly out of flames in his hand, and gently placed it against Toka's nose, making sure it would feel cool to the touch as not to hurt him.

*toka jumps a bit and nuzzles his nose with his hand*
mew!~ B-But toka n-needs master...master keep Toka away from the e-evil things and protect toka.

"What are evil things?" Toby asked, it was as if he were performing psychoanalysis on Toka, attempting to understand why Toka allowed himself to become a pet.

All the e-evil things that want to hurt t-toka. Master may punish toka but toka is safe at least mew~ Even if master uses Toka.

"Uses? What does Master use you for?" Toby asked, the word stuck out like a sore thumb, it was no wonder he was so submissive.

T-T-Toka does anything master asks...M-Master keeps Toka safe...

"He never did anything... dirty. Did he?" Toby asked, feeling Toka avoided the question. Toby felt so sorry for Toka, his life had been dictated by a cruel master yet he wished to return to his master, willingly.

Toka doesn't understand dirty? Master make Toka take bath to stay clean.
*tilts his head an flops an ear*

*Toby sighed, he would never be able to explain rape to someone so innocent. It simply couldn't be done.*
"Never mind. Did your master ever punish you when you had done nothing wrong?" Toby asked, surely Toka understood physical abuse such as violence.

*toka kept looking down without looking at the man*
N-no...Toka deserves punishment, master say toka do bad things and toka try not to do bad things but its hard.

"Hes making up excuses. Plain and simple." Toby said, gently scratching behind Toka's ears. He needed to find a way to make Toka understand, one way or another.

*tilts head*
M-Master wants to punish Toka? B-But master keeps safe...
