Northern Street

*Iori turned the corner and walked down the northern street. He was holding Shizuka's hand and had a joyful face*
*He spoke while looking forward*
Ive never been down this street before.

"I've been here once with onee-sama, it was the day she was ambushed." Shizuka spoke with honesty and uncomfortability, holding Iori's hand tighter as her body careened closer to his, stealing a glance to her side, then back forward. She turned her head up to have her eyes meet his, giving a petite smile at him while looking into his eyes.

*Iori stopped and and changed directions, heading over toward a bench on the side of the road near a the treeline*
I wish that people wouldnt be so hostile toward your sister.
She deserves respect just like the rest of use.
*he tilted his head down as his dark red eyes met hers*
Heh.

"She does, but people don't understand who she is at all..." She gave a dull, weak-hearted smile, following Iori to the bench and keeping her eyes locked on his. Catching the tinge of dark, fierce eyes, she gave a praising smile, letting out a delicate, chiming giggle. After she unwrapped her free arm from her stomach, she leaned on him for support and began taking the pearl-like buttons of the pale green jacket and buttoning them up as she began to feel the temperature slowly drop. "C-Cold..."

*Iori sat down and leaned on the back of the bench, never breaking eye contact with Shizuka*
You know Shizuka, you dont know much about me...
...and if we are to be together, no secrets should be held.
So, if you'd like to know, ill tell you of my past.
*he gave a faint smile at the end of his sentence*
It might explain that green halo you spoke of.

"So the green halo is because of something?" Shizuka's face perked up in interest about to know more about the one she loved. She walked over and stood in front of Iori, her hands set gently inside the pockets of her light cream jacket, a blizzard picking up with a steady speed. "I... don't want to keep secrets from Iori, but onee-sama's secret..."

*Iori sighed and prepared to tell his story*
In the past, i was a very violent being. The hunters of my clan, the Yagami, were extremely violent and cocky. They killed creatures without reason, and did so without remorse.
*he took a breath in*
Our rival clan was superior over us, and of course we didnt like that.
So...
My clan made a pact with an extremely strong demon, and through that, we gained immense power, but at a price.
We were cursed for life...
...Our form in which gave us strength called our Gekido Form makes our bodies two times faster and stronger, but kills us slowly from the inside.
If that wasnt bad enough, the curse also causes most of our heir to die through weird and unheard-of
diseases, for each of our mothers to die in childbirth, and for the males, such as myself, to stop
aging within the ages of 16 and 21.
*he exhaled, then put his hand out, palm up*
And our flames...
*he creates a tall, dark purple flame in his palm that splashes a violet light around them*
...are tinted purple as a side effect of our curse.

Shizuka took a step closer to get a better feel of the story, as well as sneak closer to Iori. The foot that had stepped forward immediately retreated back, her body leaning away at the simply word of demon. Adding two and two together, she realized why the green halo had been there. Because a demon's presence was present inside of him. Her muscle tightened and she watched the person dear to her with fearful teal eyes. She never realized she'd fear him, but the simple word 'demon' sent her body into a mental submission, her nerves reacting to pain and forcing her body to step away. She shot her eyes to the tall, vibrant flame smoldering around his hand, her breathing shortening to a more shallow one. Hearing the side-effects of the curse tore at Shizuka's heart in sadness and despair. How would she have known Iori had gone through so much yet still held such a loving and welcoming atmosphere. It was unbelievable. "Ah... I see." were the only words that could be pushed out through the dense emotions throwing themselves around in her head.

*Iori kept the flame going and looked over it toward Shizuka*
Is there something wrong?
Does something about my story scare you?

Shizuka looked down to the floor, trying to find all the courage inside of her to regain the step she had cheated. To his question, a gentle shake of the head answered and she took a slow step forward. "I'm not... f-fond of demons."

*Iori blew his flame out and watched her for a moment before speaking*
Because i was cursed by one, you fear me?
Im more of a victim in this situation.

"N-No! I don't fear you! Just the generality... o-of genuine demons!" Shizuka's volume raised up with anxiety and nervousness with each passing word. God knows what was running through Iori's mind but one she hoped was what he said. She wasn't afraid of him. Or at least, she didn't want to be. She took an uneasy step forward and reached her hand out to place it on his where the violet flame had ceased it's glowing.

*Iori closed his hand around Shizuka's and let out a relieved sigh*
Good, good.
*the worried look on his face turned into a delightful smile*
You know, not all demons are bad.

"I've only met... t-two that I love." her voice held softness and giving a ringing tone, devoid of fear or worry. In fact, it gave off a comforting truth. Thoughts of her two beloved and admirable siblings, Sakurai and Kukai entered her thoughts with their two rare, smiling faces. She smiled herself outwardly and looked up to Iori, tugging at his hand to bring him down in a rather strong motion, kissing him delicately and slowly. After a moment, she pulled her lips from his and blushed, looking down nervously, just now realizing her action. "Well, if I count you as a full demon, then three, hehe..."

*Iori blushed as he was suddenly tugged down and kissed, making his whole face go cherry red*
Umm, ill be whatever you like, Shizuka.
And...i know of Sakurai being a demon and all.
I saw her ears.
*he patted Shizuka's head and then kissed her back with a peck on the cheek*

"Being yourself is more than enough for me." Shizuka gave a lighthearted laugh and pulled the hand in her pocket out, caressing his cheek with warmth and affection. Her hand flinched and she felt a twang of shock pulsate through her core once. "A-And... you're alive?! I-Iori, we shouldn't stay in one spot too long then...!"

*Iori raised a eyebrow at her statement, though he kind of thought she was joking*
No, its fine...but why is she so afraid to let others know?

"Those are things you have to ask her yourself. I... don't know either. But I don't mind." she wasn't kidding. She never really asked why onee-sama hid what she was. But she had a hint. Of course, because this didn't concern her, she felt it would be better for Iori to find out the truth from Sakurai herself.

*He flinched a little*
I tried to ask her why, and she attacked me...

"How did you find out?" she raised her face as her eyes met his, a soft but confused smile lighting up.

*His eyes shined in the light of the moon*
The night that we stayed in the church...
...they were out, and i saw them.

Worry began to fill up her body quickly. "Onee-sama... is never so careless as to do such a thing. Ever..." she answered to herself, feeling a surge of unsureness zip through her.

*Iori's face softened some*
You know, she may have been soft on me because of our relationship together.

Shizuka blushed, nodding once to the possibility. She did say she wanted her to be happy, so she sacrificed a secret hidden deeply for my happiness. Others may have thought otherwise, but Sakurai held an amiable personality. "I think she might have."

*Iori took Shizuka into a small comforting embrace*
So,where are we sleeping tonight?
