intersectionSpecial Ability: Advanced Fire Manipulation
- Explanation & Limits of Gift:
Advanced fire manipulation goes beyond normal elemental manipulation in few ways. This allows a person to not only manipulate the element of fire, but change it's form, density, appearance, ect. For example, if a wall of fire is created, and the molecules within it are pushed together tightly, making it hard, and can possibly block weapons or other elemental attacks. Other ways would be using the heat of fire alone, usually concentrated in the palm, without actually needing the flames of the fire. A downside to this is the constantly high body temperature, as if the user is in a permanent fever. It is possible to become used to it over time.
Weapon: Dorogon Byoki (Dragon's Tail)
- Spoiler:
- Explanation of Weapon:
Dorogon Byoki is a staff like weapon that changes form at the head of the dragon when twisted a certain way, breaking into two parts held together by a a very long and strong chain. This chain originates from within the bottom part of the staff, as if it was all hidden within it. This chain, though, can reach up to 13 feet at farthest. It's chain is extremely hard to break, made from the hardest metals.
As well as what is clearly visible with the weapon, the small circular and flat object hanging from it's blade gives off a chemical that, over a very long time, seeped into the blade. This chemical reacts to the air around it and causes it to be poisonous. When the blade cuts someone, and makes contact with blood, this poison infects them.Though this is the only way someone is infected with it; just breathing in the chemical, or being near it while with an open wound, is not enough. Haruko herself is immune to this poison, having cut herself multiple times while fighting with the staff, and would use it for another person; to poison other vampires, or other creatures who may use teeth to bite her, who may try to attack her.
After one cut, the poisoned will start feeling sick and a little slower then usual. After the second cut they will notice their speed has dropped by nearly half the usual, and the slow dull ache will begin to grow and feel like stabbing pain in the chest. Once the third cut is administered, the body will begin to go numb and unresponsive. At that point, they have 15 minutes before their organs completely shut down and the only way to stop this is to cut off the poisoned section of the body within moments of the fist cut, or Haruko giving them the antidote. When the antidote is used, they will be numb and paralyzed for the next half hour before the poison breaks apart and neutralizes.

Attitude/Personality: Haruko is a naturally kind hearted person, putting others happiness and safety over her own, and comfort them. She's a determined person, and when she sets her mind to something, she wont stop until it's done. As a young girl, she loved to laugh and joke and smile as much as possible. Though, this side of her is very rare now. The Haruko everyone sees now is cold and distant, sarcasm a common note in her voice. Using her sharp intelligence to confuse and catch opponents off guard. While she has placed this wall around her, and shoved everything away, things that remind her of the past always crack the walls a little each time. There is sadness and overwhelming loneliness that can show from beneath it to the few who are sharp enough to catch it. Over the years, she's learned to control her vampire blood lust to an extent she wont jump on a person walking by her with a paper cut.
Goals: Killing Azerith.
Likes: Blood. The stars. Singing.
Dislikes: Being ignored. Getting told she knows nothing.
Bad Habits: Tends to play with people’s minds. Carves holes in random objects.
Fears: Herself. Azerith.

History:
The story began over 1000 years ago in Italy on the day November 10th; Haruko was born to her Italian mother, who was a noble, and her Japanese father, who was a well known hunter. Being the 1st born daughter, she had certain responsibilities that fell on her shoulders. As her father saw it, she was to learn the ways of wielding a blade, defending herself from beings, human and otherworldly alike. As her mother saw it, and her father, she was to be taught manners and discipline so she attracted a suitable husband. It was clear she leaned towards her father more.
It didnt take Haruko long to learn to wield her father's spear, but the pressures of needing to catch the eye of a man at the same time kept her studies slow. When her mother gave birth to twins, her brother and sister, she thought it could fall on them to marry off and make an heir to he family. She found herself proven wrong.
At the same time, and without her knowledge, she had already caught he eye of a young man by the name of Azerith Crescent. His family was very well known, and very rich. but secretive. It was thought that the family was also very picky about who they allied themselves with. When Azerith confronted Haruko, and revealed himself to the family, her father became very cold towards him. Haruko was puzzled by this, he was everything she was told to look for; he was handsome, rich, had a well known family, and was a perfect gentlemen to her. But, she knew there was something off about him, and the way he moved with perfect grace. One night, her father told her who he really was.
Azerith was a pure blood vampire, and his parents were now deceased. Killed by the hand of her father's old partner himself; as well as one other who had been with them. A woman her father believed was close to Azerith. Azerith himself begged for his life, and in return would become an ally of them. It was the only reason he lived. Despite the marriage offers Azerith put forward, he was declined and sent away. There was this feeling he hadn't given up, a look in his eyes that seemed like he had already won his prize.
It didn't bother her very much. She had her eyes on someone already, someone she barely knew, but had grown to like quite easily. It was at the Harvest festival when she was around 14 she first met him in a swordsmanship competition. Disguising herself as a boy, she entered the competition. Both her and the boy flew through the competitors like they were nothing, until they came face to face. It was a long and close fight, until he realized she was, well, a she. At that moment, he slipped down on his knee, allowing her blade to touch the padding on his neck, making her the winner of the match and competition. Though, in her fear he might rat her out, she had fled. But not before she found out his name; Khaelahavael. She would have tried to become closer to him, or at least speak to him again, had things not started going downhill at a 90 degree angle.
Not long after the festival, Haruko had gone to train as usual by herself. It was a normal day. The only thing not so normal was the gruesome scene that awaiting her at home that day. Her family was slaughtered while turning away, all except her father. It was shameful to strike an enemy whose back was turned, as well as unarmed. Though whoever had done it had no remorse for these principles, and didnt hesitate it seemed. She never made it to see the bodies of her mother and father, she had collapsed on the stairs at the site of her twins siblings. When she awoke, she was in the arms of Azerith, in a place she didn't recognize.
He fed her lies, and in her grief, believed them. He told her he had come to visit to speak with her father once more, to find her collapsed and her family slaughtered. He told her he was there for her as a shoulder to cry on, and he'd always be there. At first, she believed his soft sweet words used to comfort her. Though after hearing the special circumstances behind her family's deaths, and the shock had worn off, she realized he had done it. He was the only option as to why. But she made a stupid mistake; she confronted him directly, and asked him why he did it. He didn't deny it, and said they came between him and his love. That now there was nothing keeping her away from him. Disgusted by his motive and the ease with which he spoke of it, she ran. Something she learned from her father was that it was foolish to face an enemy you know you cannot defeat.
She continued to run and hide from him, sticking to large crowds and disguising herself as a boy to avoid the eyes of others. Not long after, she enrolled into an Academy to hone her education. They wouldn't allow woman to enroll, so she kept up her guise as a young man. What she hadn't expected was to cross Khael again, who saw through her disguise as he did before. They began to grow closer, forming a bond of friendship between them. She almost forgot Azerith at one point in time. Azerith, however, had been watching her. Growing jealous of their close friendship. He cornered Khael one night, attacking him, and leaving him to die. Shortly after, that same night, her corner Haruko as well. He told her he would finally make her his, and change her into one of his kind.
Though before, he had taunted her with the knowledge he had 'taken care of' the boy. Driven by this, she found the strength to fight him back, and run. Searching for Khael in every ally and backstreet between the small houses. When she found him, she knew he wouldn't last long. There was only one thing she could do for bringing him into this situation he should never have met. She turned him, barely able to contain her new found hunger, before she fled. No note. No goodbye. Nothing to remember her by. She was ashamed of what she had become, and feared what she would in the future. More than that, she feared what she had done to Khael, and had no clue if he survived the change. She didn't want to know.
For so long, she stayed on the very sidelines of history. Watching, never interacting or speaking out, or making a scene. She ran from country to country, never staying more than a few years in each place to avoid people finding out she didnt age and guess what she was. As well as avoid awakening her hunger and Azerith catching up. This life was lonesome, empty. Forcing herself to live the life of those who lost theirs to her and her hunger. As well as for Khael, who she now saw as dead. Several times she had returned to Italy in search of him, but to no avail. Soon, she never came at all, as Azerith predicted her visits easily. He chased her still without growing tired it seemed, until he began to fall behind. She decided to settle in Japan for awhile, and start back at school. It had been 30 years since she had last seen Azerith, and figured he may have finally been caught by a hunter. Despite this, she still fears his wrath, therefore stays on the sidelines of the population. Fearing what happened so long ago to repeat itself.
(i got permission from Khael to include his character in my history, as we're trying to intertwine them together.)
