Ferris Wheel

Shizuka gave a lighthearted laugh as her face melted to it's serene and calm state, her eyes seeming to glow a gorgeous teal. Her cheeks faded into a tender blush at the feeling of his hand run through her hair, closing her eyes an inch and watching his dull red eyes, in complete peace. She tilted her head down to look down at Iori, running her finger through her slowly, her nails gently running along his scalp. Her chiming laugh escaped once more, afterward tilting head back back up and turning her gaze to the Manor, the people still arriving as lights cavorted around the large estate, almost magically.

*Yagami moved his hand to her knee and moved a finger on it in small circles, looking out at the beautiful view, shivering joyfully as she played in his hair*
Whoa...how long...have we been up here?
It seems like forever.
*he smirked and laughed*
Not that im complaining, of course.
Ive enjoyed this time with you oh so very much.
*pausing for a short while, he then finished his statement*
This is possibly...the highlight of my entire life.

"The time spent with you compares with the day I was saved by Sakurai..." her voice accidentally trailed off, recalling the night when she was rescued by Sakurai from the life she could firmly call an abyss. Her eyes lost their life as they retained their natural shade, her fingernails still delicately skimming his scalp. She tore her eyes from the Manor's cheerful atmosphere and tilted her head down to look down at Iori, enjoying the pleasant aura around them. Her eyes seemed to regain some of their natural life as she leaned down and placed a sweet kiss on the corner of his mouth.

*Iori watched the manor with a watchful eye, and smiled as he was kissed by his lover. He then looked from the corner of his eye up to her, moving his face upward a little bit*
What do you mean by that?
What exactly did she save you from?
*his dark and dull red eyes faded back to black as he looked up to her*

Shizuka lifted herself away from his face and moved some hair away from Iori's face with her fragile hand, breathing in shakily. "When I was seven, I had adoptive parents. They were demons... and they weren't the nicest ones... They owed something and Sakurai came and took their lives, saving me from that room of darkness. She then took me in as her younger sister..." The mere thought of how they treated her made her hands quiver gently, her eyes closing halfway as she forced herself to finish the story for his sake.

Her eyes began to sting as she held back the tears that would have spilled over by then. She squinted and gave a light laugh, turning her head away from her admirer to lock her eyes on something distant as the moon, the car beginning to slow down at a steady pace. She had never told anyone, not even Mael or Namida, whom she found to be two of the closest people in her life aside from Sakurai and Kukai. So, why had she willingly and without much doubt told Iori. Was it the natural attraction to him due to what he called love?

Sakurai...
*his voice trailed off, and he squinted his eyes for a moment before closing them completely*
...she...she has a kind heart.
I knew it...
*he sat up and wrapped his arms around Shizuka, holding her tightly in his arms and setting his cheek atop her head*
Thats...so unfortunate...
...that you had to experience something like that.
You definitely did not deserve that.
*His eyes softened and he felt himself being filled with sad emotions. He truly felt for her, and it seemed as though the same emotions that she was feeling as she thought of those past events had been passed onto him*
If they were still alive, i'd hunt them myself.

Shizuka kept her face turned away from Iori's to ensure he didn't see her in such a state. She had to stay happy to ensure Iori was happy but it was much difficult to put that into effect. "She really is... but people neglect the possibilties of what she's gone through or what she's done..." She clenched her teeth and coughed, the moment she blinked, a tear slipped out from her control and landed on his arm with a warm and wet pat. She shut her eyes and inhaled slowly and shook her head, trying to rid of the horrid day that would have soon changed her life without her having the slightest idea, as if a movie was being played on fast-forward with no sound. The two demons were arguing while she was listening from a distance, hidden to the best of her abilities. The moment she was going to walk off before she was caught, the front double doors slammed open and a cloaked figure stood there silently, theirs eyes a smoldering and glowing yellow.

She subconsciously whimpered the word 'no' outwardly, the tone pleading for the flashback to cease. Iori's words were tugging at Shizuka's mind to return to reality and she shook her head slowly once, her eyes opening as more tears slipped out without restraint, running down her cheeks and landing on her school uniform's skirt. "I... may have not deserved it but... but I don't regret being with them... because if I wasn't with them, I would have never met Sakurai, or Kukai, or Namida and Mael..." her voice trailed off, afraid to utter a sngle word more before her voice and mind broke down in recalling her life before this one, how different it was now that she compared them. "Or you... and... I would give anything to keep my life the way it was since I was born..."

*Iori could do nothing but hold her in his arms and pull her head to his shoulder, his eyes closed*
Please, dont cry Shizuka.
I didnt mean to make you cry...i...ishouldnt have pried into it.
*nuzzling against the top of her head, he finished, his voice cracking abit*
And, i suppose that is true.
*a smile broke out onto his face somehow, even with the sadness that was still inside of him*
If it werent for that, we wouldnt have had...these wonderful nights together.

The mere sound of Iori's voice making an attempt to blame her tears on him hit Shizuka in the heart. Hard. She shook her head frantically and pulled her head away from his shoulder, looking up to his face, devastated. "N-No... you didn't... you weren't the one who did this. You... you didn'y pry into anything!" Her voice was still at a low volume but her tone was begging, no, pleading to not have Iori think he had any hand in this. She raised her hand and pressed her trembling palm on the side of jaw, caressing it slowly and delicately, her eyes waivering with guilt at the sight of his saddened smile. It hurt her so much to see Iori in such anguish. She resented herself for ever putting one ounce of sadness near someone who deserved nothing of it. "Right... Iori... I'm... so so sorry... so sorry..." her voice faded away as her eyes slowly closed to appear half closed, her eyes turning down.

*He stared at Shizuka's frantic face, and as she talked he put two fingers to her lips, reassuring her*
Dont stress over it Shizuka. Im fine, see?
*Iori forced a smile to his face and pointed to it, then laughed it off*
I just dont want to see you sad is all.
And i know you wouldnt want to see me upset as well, so lets do eachother a favor.
*the fingers on her lips slid down, passing over her chin then tucking under it and pulling her head toward him gently, laying a calm, gentle kiss on her lips*
Lets keep eachother happy.
For as long as we may live~

Shizuka felt his warm fingers lightly press against her own delicate lips, her dull teal gaze returning to Iori's. She took note of the smile and, too blind to see through it, merely lit her face up to know Iori was fine. Feeling Iori lift her chin and kiss her with such a simple delicacy of his own, it seemed to slowly melt away the thoughts that had been tormenting her moments ago. "Mhm, I'll try my absolute best. Her naturally heartmelting smile had returned, a little duller, but still genuine and intact.

That is great to hear, Shizuka.
I will also try...no, do, my absolute best to keep you not only happy, but healthy and thriving as well.
*he ruffled her hair playfully, his smile turning into a real one after seeing her own*
*After his words, he blinked and looked to the side at the sky for a mere second, then quickly returned it to her*
Its midnight, the peak of the darkness...

Shizuka nodded and thought to herself how she could return such kindness to him after he had opened new, unfound doors for her. She gave a melodic, gentle laugh in response to his playful teasing of her hair. "I-Iori~" she whined whilst a joyful smile swept across her face, her voice fluctuating purposely between pitches. She lowered her hand into her lap as the car was preparing itself to stop.

*Iori laughed and smiled, knowing the drama was over and that he could go back to spending time with the love of his life*
*After ruffling her air, he watched her closely and gave her a simple, loving look*

Shizuka felt as if the recalled spilling of emotions happened days ago and all the negativity was simply a nightmare. Her teal eyes opened fully, her face calm and her eyes locked on his. The simple but meaningful look he gave to her held such warmth, she felt blessed it was being shown to her. The Ferris wheel's car came to an abrupt stop, her body getting shoved into Iori's, her face in his chest, still trying to piece together what just happened.

*Iori watched as Shizuka fell forward onto his chest with a light thump, and held her up with a soothing look in his eyes. He thought that if he stayed looking positive, and being positive, that he could effect them both for the better, hence his always smiling face and lit-up eyes*
*he spoke in a whisper, as to not break the calm atmosphere that had developed*

Ready to go?

Shizuka nodded kindly and stood up from the seat slowly, holding Iori's hand with a fragile hand of her own. She led her free hand to the handle of the door and turned it, pushing it out as the car rocked with the strong gusts of wind that perservered through the night. She stepped out slowly, as to not let her luck make her fall, the winds beginning to howl. "It's so windy..."

*Yagami followed Shizuka out of the cart and stood next to her, having to take an extra step do to the wind*
*he looked around in the direction that the wind was coming from*
You're right...its really bad out here.
*he looked down to her*
Can you walk?

Shizuka nodded and took a step forward, breathing in the cold air as the wind chafed her cheeks. She glanced from one side to the other and continued her walking, using most of her strength to not careen to side and trip. "Mmm, yeah, I can."

Alright, so...
where to go?
What do you say we find some shelter?
Its dark, cold, and late, but the dorms are closed.
*he pouted*

Shizuka halted her walk and turned her head up to the moonless night, squinting because of the gusts sweeping around. She turned her head to the side, looking to Iori with a serene, calm expression. "That's right... one of my classmates said there would be a blizzard tonight too." Her face went blank as she looked ahead and thought of somewhere to take shelter in.

*he peered up to the sky as well*
Where exactly did the Administrators of the school expect us to go, anyway?
*Iori walked up behind Shizuka and put his arms around her waist*

Shizuka's mind snapped back to his seemingly rhetorical question. She felt two strong arms wrap around her waist as she tilted her head to get a better look at her lover's handsome face. She was resilient and didn't speak, enjoying the actions much more.

*he looked down at Shizuka looking up at him and laughed*
Uwah~
What is it, darling?

Shizuka's face went blank and she tilted her head to the side. She had a case of déjà vu, and her mind went blank, trying to rethink why that was. She shrruged it off lightly and smiled warmingly up to Iori, her body beginning to tremble faintly under his arms. "You're very handsome. And your glow is pure." the glow portion of comment must have left Iori with confusion. The glow Iori gave off was a gentle, glowing gray with a pale green halo.
