I know now what he said..
Miss Chimitsu...holds the soul within her of the one Mael truly fell in love with. He desires to be with her more than anything, and in so feeling, with Chimitsu. So long as he took any other route, he would not have been able to be with her.
He...has given into his fate to die with the Necromancer, just for that chance.
To do the things he wanted, he had to take that route, because with any other...it would've been impossible.
I do not blame him for his choice, he's lived 2519 years, helping others, doing things for others, and not for himself. This last act, was purely selfish, but if anyone deserves one selfish act, it is he...
